Real Estate, home building, and house restoration have been a part of my life as far back as I can remember, so I am thrilled to be a part of the Charles Reinhart Company Realtors! As a member of the Flewelling Team, I helped 23 families buy or sell their homes for 8.4 million in sales in 2022. I have been in the Charles Reinhart Company's President's Club for Sales Excellence 7 years in a row. Sales statistics do not mean much to me though. Helping my clients is the most satisfying part of my job.

As a lifelong resident of the Ann Arbor area, having grown up in Salem and Superior Townships, I know and love the city of Ann Arbor.  From the amazing cultural amenities, the lively streetscapes, beautiful historic neighborhoods, and the natural beauty of the Huron River, parks, and surrounding countryside, it truly is one the best and most livable cities in the country.

Upon graduation from University of Michigan, where I earned a BA in History in 2000, I began purchasing, restoring and selling neglected historic houses. In 2008 and 2018, I won Rehabilitation Awards from the Ann Arbor Historic District Commission for the restoration of two Greek Revival homes. In addition, I worked as a painting and restoration contractor for over 20 years. Between my own projects, and working on my clients' houses, I have seen just about everything when it comes to older and historic homes, good and bad. It is my hope that I can use my extensive experience to help my clients make informed decisions when it comes to buying or selling a home, whether it was built last year or 180 years ago.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, gardening and landscaping, travel, volunteering with local historical groups, as well as giving tours and lectures on local history. I am also an award winning amateur cider maker, and maintain a young apple and pear orchard of 200 trees. I served as Chair of the Ann Arbor Historic District Commission, on the HDC Awards Committee and was the Chair of Germantown Historic District Study Committee. I now serve on the executive committee of the Ann Arbor Historical Foundation. In 2014, my book Historic Ann Arbor: An Architectural Guide, which I co-authored with Susan Wineberg, was released. It features profiles of 375 of Ann Arbor's most significant historic buildings, and is one of my proudest accomplishments. It can be found at local books stores, as well Amazon.

I live in Ann Arbor Township, in a ca.1855 Italianate farmhouse, with my wife Andrea, our two rescue dogs, and rescue cat.

“We really enjoyed working with Pat! We initially wanted to work with Pat given his extensive knowledge of older/historic homes. We have already recommended him to friends looking to buy a new home, and will continue to recommend him to others. He was focused and responsive, and very pleasant to work with--even working with us to place an offer over a weekend while we were traveling internationally. Once we found the home that we loved and wanted to make an offer, Pat gave us great advice on when to place our initial bid and how to put our bid together. As a result, the process was efficient and productive. We got our home at a price we felt comfortable with and have been happy living in it after moving in a few months ago. Pat was also very helpful with items after the initial sale, such as coordinating the inspection and recommending contractors to help us with jobs around our new home. We will definitely turn to Pat again if we need an agent and we strongly recommend him!”

“Pat and the Flewelling team are the best. Honest, response and patient. We worked with Pat while looking for the perfect building site for our family home. When we *finally* found it he made the deal happen (against all odds). A realtor that has personally rehabbed and sold several historic homes knows a thing or two. Thanks Pat!”

“Pat is such a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and friendly person to work with if you are looking to buy a home in Ann Arbor. Pat was easy to get ahold of when we had questions. Also very easy to coordinate times to go look at houses with him. Pat walked us through every step of the process. He has an extensive knowledge of old houses and would point out structural things to us that might be a potential issue while looking at a listing - something that was immensely useful to a first home buyer such as myself. Pat is simply the best!”

“Patrick was was recommended to us by a friend. We could not have been more pleased with Patrick as a person and as a realtor! He was very laid back which we loved! He didn't ever try to push anything on us. He was very flexible on meeting/showing times! We loved that Patrick had a lot of home knowledge on homes besides just surface things. He would know if something didn't look right or needed attention. He has fixed up and restored homes in the past so he knows what he is talking about which is an added bonus. If we wanted his opinion on things he would always give it to us. We loved the fact with some homes he would bring up good questions for us to think about (things we weren't even thinking about). It brought good conversation and got us thinking more critically! Very good with communication, always emailing, calling, or texting back. He made sure our closing process went smooth and that we had everything we needed. If I ever have to buy another home I wouldn't consider anyone but Patrick! Patrick is a stand up person, he actually cares, and always went above and beyond.”

“"We were first time home buyers in the Ann Arbor / Ypsi area, working with Pat McCauley. He was awesome! It was a hard sellers market to be buying in, and he made what could have been a very stressful process enjoyable. He was the perfect mix - he held our hand when we had lots of question and let us run the show on what we wanted to see and when. We were always comfortable that we had all the information we needed from Pat in order to make the right decision. In the end, we ended up in just the right house for us at a fair price. We would work with Pat again in a heartbeat and recommend him to anyone else in the area who needs a great agent, , , , , , , "”
